We know a lot of you are still very busy during this lockdown but even so, you\u2019ll need a break sometime. So we thought we would offer a few suggestions of music that you might like.<\/p>

To coincide with International #JazzDay, we\u2019ve started by turning to our good friend Dave Kelbie at Lejazzetal<\/a>, one of the UK\u2019s best quirky indie record labels. We've asked him to recommend some great jazz musicians you might not have come across before. Dave works with lots of different musicians so he seemed a good chap to ask.<\/p>

So put your feet up, grab an Espresso and have a taster of these very different types of jazz ...<\/p>

1. Fancy a hot New Orleans piano vibe?<\/h3>

Andrew Oliver\u2019s 'House Bound Jazz\u2019<\/a> is a series of overdubbed recordings on Bandcamp\u00a0made at home during the 2020 Coronavirus quarantine. It features expert hot jazz musicians from around the world.\u00a0Something good to come out of these difficult times. Check it out.<\/p>

2. How about coffee with jazz banjo and chat?<\/h3>

Banjo player, singer, and guitarist Don Vappie offers you laid back chat and some gentle jammin\u2019 and improvisation with\u00a0'the coolest cat in New Orleans'. Don is there on his New Orleans porch with 'Coffee on the Porch<\/a>' for you everyday at 2pm UK time, and also shares Afternoon Songs at 9pm. Find him on Facebook here<\/a>. Sit back, join in, or just chill.<\/p>

And his latest title, 'The Blue Book of Storyville'<\/a> is getting great reviews...<\/p>

3. More brassy?<\/h3>

Spice up your evenings with some hot Louis Armstrong tunes with Rico\u2019s \u2018Popup Louis\u2019 jazz sessions<\/a>! UK ace trumpeter Enrico Tomasso (from Leeds) is six-time British Jazz Awards winner\u00a0and he\u2019s live\u00a0on Facebook Friday and Saturdays 7pm UK time.\u00a0 What a wonderful world to discover.<\/p>

4. Gypsy jazz at its finest<\/h3>

Belgian Tcha Limberger oozes oodles of talent on a number of instruments, including violin, guitar, taragot (trad Hungarian cross between clarinet and soprano sax) and oud. He's well known for gypsy jazz - check out this link to hear Tcha and the Les Violons de Bruxelles<\/a> for Django Reinhardt-style sounds with a cool twist.<\/p>

Or visit his YouTube channel for his current \u2018Offstage\u2019 performances<\/a>\u00a0.<\/a> Tcha is also a master of world folk music so as well as jazz, you might experience tunes from Transylvania (without bats), Hungary, Greece, or Portugal or other places.<\/p>

5. Eclectic country guitar jamming<\/h3>

For something different again - guitar jazz with a country twist - check out the house concerts with Meredith Axelrod and Craig Ventresco\u00a0'live' on Facebook\u00a0each night. Great songs and a cool vibe, brought to you from the kitchen. Check Meredith's Facebook site<\/a> to see what's been going down.<\/p>

6. Jimi Hendrix crossover anyone?<\/h3>

Denny Ilet\u2019s Electric Lady Land Big Band is an all-star 16-piece big band inspired by Electric Ladyland, the 1968 double album that cemented Jimi Hendrix\u2019s reputation as a true visionary. The band features many of the UK\u2019s most inspiring and innovative jazz soloists. Check out this rendition of Ain't No Telling.<\/a><\/p>

7. And finally, how about some classic vintage jazz swing?<\/h3>

We've added this one in as it is Dave's own band but we think you'll like them. The Dime Notes<\/a> are a hard-swinging vintage jazz band. They are due to release their second CD during the lockdown but in the meantime, check out Daylight Savin Blues here<\/a>. We challenge you to keep your feet still.<\/p>
